I am reminded of an event of Qaed e Azam and Gandhi. Gandhi had once said that he wanted to meet The Qaed in secret and would go to any place to meet him with folded arms and bended legs and head down. To which The Qaed replied we are talking of the destiny of two nations and there can be no secret about this and if you are a straight man come with straight limbs and head up.

If Zulfiqar Mirza believed in himself and if he knew he was a truthful person himself there was no need for him to lift Quran e Shareef on his head. Only liars do it. It is almost impossible to believe his words particularly after his sectarian and racist remarks all through. In any other country he would be behind bars for "Disaffection", "Slander", "Defamation", and a Threat to Public Order and Peace. He played his Sindh card and as if that was not bad enough also played the Shia card. Went to the extent of calling himself "badboodar shia". What the hell is he doing?

I would have put him in jail long ago for saying "Pakistan Naa Khappay" as if he created Pakistan and had the authority to undo it. He is an extremely imbalanced and a temperamental man. Beats me such a person enjoyed so much of power. No wonder he was singularly responsible for the deaths of so many. Widowed so many women and orphened so many children.

On top of it he says he did not recruit a single person Urdu speaking from Karachi out of 10,000 appointments. Prejudice has no limits. Can this person be called fair? You deprive such a large population of employment and food. Make them jobless. Shame on him and the likes of him.

No wonder you don't find any Urdu speaking in the Home Department in any position. From top to bottom they are all Sindies whether they are fit for it or not. Is this justice? Is this good governance? Shouldn't he be tried and taken to task for this and sent to jail for being so unfair with the citizens he is supposed to serve?

First Altaf Hussain could never in his wildest imagination tell Zulfiqar Mirza that he won't stop the Qatl e Aam of Pathans (genocide of Pathans) as if he was doing the Qatl e Aam of Pathans. Who would ever say this even if that was the intent. This is total rubbish and garbage Only a fool and an idiot would buy his statement. Urdus are getting killed in Karachi by Pathans and Aman Committee goons of Zulfiqar Mirza, left right and center and day in and day out and this guy enjoys speaking this utter nonsense which will only draw ireof the Pathans.

He seems to have deliberately said this by design to incite Pathans and start another orgy of bloodshed. Nothing else. He must immediately be arrested, tried and hanged for creating bad blood between two people otherwise living together peacefully. It was totally peaceful until the recent inciting by ANP and its incendiary statements. He seems to be more stupid than he looks.

I hope PPP and Pakistan does not let him go unpunished. He must carry the maximum penalty.

Who is killing whom and where is governance?

When there were riots in England immediate arrests of 1,500 people were made. And here people are dying endlessly since July no arrests are made. Why are they looking elsewhere and not taking action?

What is important what is urgent?

Our petty minded politicians have no idea of what is important and what is urgent and what can wait. For example people are being killed in Karachi and they took up the issue of Commissioner-ate System from the middle of nowhere. Looks like they have no idea of what they are doing or must do, forget about important and urgent.

Instead of addressing the root cause of the problem, taking action against those who incite violence openly with racist statements on TV, talk shows and in speeches and moving against the killers and murderers they ignore it. Take no action, let them escape. The result is for months on ends the killings go on - total apathy for problems and law and order. That was one example.

Balochistan is burning. They have not a clue what to do. They go and rake up the name of Khyber Pahktunkhwa as if that could not have waited. This appeasement of a race is not a good idea. Tomorrow they could ask for secession and you wouldn't be able to do anything. The name Sarhad was just fine - at least it was not on a race. Punjab is by the five rivers. Sindh by Indus, Balochistan by Bal. KPK is the only province on a race. So why blame poor Hitler for racism?

ZAB resisted it and so did all the previous administrations stubbornly and not without reason and this government thoughtlessly went ahead and did it only to get ANP support at the Center. These KPK guys don't want any laws and rules for themselves and want to export the same lawless (ilaqa ghair) mindset elsewhere in Pakistan. High time it stopped. It is important it is urgent. But they do nothing about it.

The Urgent and Important issue is Balochistan. The rebellion started not by the people but sardars. People of Balochistan are with Pakistan 100%. I have interviewed scores of ordinary Balochs. They have confided that they are sick and tired of the tyranny of sardars. They want Pakistan to free them from their hold. Surprisingly the media seems to be sold to the sardars as they do not talk about their tyranny, how they have kept Balochistan and Balochis backward.

The rebellion must be put down by force and the people appeased, not sardars. Talk to the people not the rebel sardars. Bring in a law to curtail their power that is land. Take land away from them by introducing strict land ceiling and distribute the excess land among the poor in the area.

As for the armed rebellion by the sardars take a cue from how India crushed the much bigger Khalistan movement.

He has been consistent. From the time he took over in Sindh I have yet to see a sensible statement from this guy. He always makes statements that are downright racist. He seems to be a psychic case. His response is never normal and such a person was home Minister?

What is happening in Karachi?

Why can't they pin point at the exact problem?

Why is Karachi allowed to be destroyed like this. It is totally unprotected. As seen from three days some people have occupied vantage positions and are firing indiscriminately. Can't the police go there, catch them and bring them to justice? One can clearly see who is killing whom. The political leaders, governor Mr. Nisar Khoro don't seem to have a clue.

The guys like Haji Adeel and Shahi Syed who come from very far don't give a damn about Karachi and openly make racist comments and incite people to violence for their petty political gains. They have made their own area as Ilaqa Ghair - lawless area. And no lawless area can have development. And when you cannot have development you won't have jobs.

So they don't go to nearby Islamabad or Lahore because they are not allowed there but go straight to Karachi where the Karachiites do not stop them. The result is they manifest their lawlessness there. Their leaders say Weapons is their jewellery. Hathyar hamara zevar hai - Shahi Syed.

But the people of Karachi are shy of blaming the Pakhtun racist mindset while Pakhtun ANP leadership does not hesitate in making openly racist comments and allegations. They never talk of co-existence. Even if one family lives in a remote area in Sindh they will have a red flag of ANP hoisted. If they are so racist and do not want to mix with people of Karachi why do they come from so far and make life or Karachiites difficult?

Where are the law enforcement agencies? What are they getting paid for?

Islamabad should stop migration of 25,000 Pakhtoons on a daily basis to Karachi that is taking place since 2007. The city cannot take such an influx. It just doesn't have the water, food, sewage, roads, power and housing to support them. They go and occupy lands creating more problems. Who is going to please stop this lawlessness?

If he gets away by court for lack of hard evidence he will not even have the humiliation of being arrested so that it is deterrence for future budding criminals. It beats all logic not showing their faces. Show them. The whole world does it. Very recently remember that IMF Chief Strauss Kahn, every body knows his face now. I always wondered why don't they show faces. Show it.

Lessons from PNS Mehran attack... move cantonments out of the cities...

Move cantonments out of town and rename Abbotabad...

150 years back when Karachi was a sleeping fishing village these cantonments were fine not any more... City has grown all around it... inconvenience for people and the army/navy and airforce all...

Now Karachi is a mega polis sprawling hundreds of square miles. The population is about 20 million. The need to move cantonments out of towns can hardly more emphasised. The cantonments are every where and large tracts are occupied. While it is inconvenient for the forces it is also most inconvenient for the people. They can very easily be moved at least 50 km away from the city North West of Karachi. Vast empty areas are available.

And these areas must not be made concrete jungles but developed into green belts, forests and parks as we see in the West right in the middle of the city. Some parts can be developed though for civilians but by the best town planner in the world invited to compete and bid. Lets make this city unique and one of the best in the world.

Army, Navy and Air Force would also be safe in a lot better place.

When will Mr. Billor teach his children to respect the rule of law not a gun?

When a baby is born to a Muslim it is The Prophet's (PBH) tradition to say "Azan" call for prayer in the new born's ear. Mr. Billor says when a baby is born in their tribe they let him hear not "Azan" but the sound of shots from a gun. That is Mr. Billor. He can't help it. From the comfort of his home in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa he spews venom on Karachiites along with other ANP leaders.

Mr. Billor from Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa and Mr. Shahi Syed the KPK, ANP leader of Sind always talk of using guns for all solutions and it seems they do. "Hathyar hamar zevar hai" weapons are his adornment says Shahi Syed while making a new born kid listen to the sound of guns is their creed says Mr. Billor the Federal Minister for Railways in a press conference. This is how they raise their young they claim. And earlier Mr. Shahi Syed had read out from a written statement that "a Pathan never forgets to take revenge even after 100".

This is not the first time the Pakhtoon leaders have spoken of racism and disrupting law and order by use of force. Their utterances have caused divisions among people otherwise living peacefully together. The killings never seem to cease. It has been going on for well over an year now. Do we have an end in sight? Doesn't seem so. When we think things are OK then we hear an MPA is shot dead, then we hear people from gangs, underworld and land mafia have killed so many here and there.

When we think the worse is over then we hear pillion rider rule is relaxed and we have Sher Shah people murder with gay abandon in broad day light. They are never caught and brought to justice. How long will this go on? The Pakhtoons come from very far. They do not go to nearby Islamabad or Lahore and Punjab where they have been successfully stopped from entering and settling. I am shocked to hear they claim "Karachi hamara hai - ANP" the chalking is every where. Yes hamara hai, thumhara hai, sab ka hai. Yes it is our but is not Pakistan for all? Kya Pakistan hamara nahi hai?

There has never been a problem with Pathans or Pakhtoons. They have lived ever so peacefully with other Pakistanis in Karachi. The problem is with the uneducated and short sighted ANP leadership sitting in Pakhtoonkhwa and fomenting hatred far away in Karachi. You must listen to Haji Adeel and co. My God, what ideas. They love their people to earn in Karachi, as they cannot provide employment back home due to the lawlessness mind set, but exhort them not to own it. They do not encourage them to mix with the population and build bridges but keep aloof so that they vote for ANP. Hence their contribution to peace and development is nil in Karachi.

If only these people had developed Pakhtoonkhwah the poor people from there would never have needed to leave home and travel as far as Karachi for a living. Now that they have, for God's sake let them live in peace and give peace to their neighbors.

My biggest anguish is when my children have to miss school or the school is closed ever so often because of the conditions of the city. So many children have had problems in the O level and A level exams too. The papers come from abroad and they do not change and there is no re-test. The KPK visitors to Karachi, now settling down don't seem to have this problem.

Karachi - identify problems, solutions can be found!

Karachi has taken an influx of 10,000 people a day for decades... but can it for ever? This is a subject I do not want to write about because I hate racism, regionalism and favouritism. We must like or dislike on merit not any other consideration. For me all are Muslims and hence no problem. But it hurts when I see so much of killing. They are all my brothers.

In chess they say observers game is at the top. Similarly when things seem too complicated lets move back a bit climb a hillock and take a distant, detached and a dispassionate look. Then we have to look closely as well so that we do not miss important details.

Karachi is experiencing an influx of people at the rate of a minimum 10,000 people a day for a few decades now, as they say. Can any city take this beating and allow for urbanisation of this magnitude? It just does not have the resources to feed them nor does it have housing, water, sewage and road network. When you tax a city well beyond its limits, problems are bound to occur.

Where are these people coming from? From areas that are most ackward for whatever reasons. And they come with their own mindset of backwardness and lawlessness. They have made their own areas - "no go areas" "Ilaqa Ghair". No body can go in their so no investment can come nor development take place. The result is joblessness. People have to move out naturally.

They do not go to nearby Lahore or Islamabad but over a thousand mile away to Karachi. When such large influx takes place in an area, a friction with locals is not out of the ordinary. It is not unexpected. One solution is to develop those areas from where there is an exodus of people so that influx elsewhere stops. Otherwise Karachi will burst at the seams which it seems to be the case now.

Employment opportunities must be created in other provinces so that people get jobs in their own provinces and there is neither exodus nor influx in any area.

I have been hearing on television all leaders of ANP openly blaming MQM for every thing. This should not happen. No names should be taken lest you create divisions among people who are otherwise living peacefully with each other. They are dependent on each other.

I have heard ANP leader Mr. Shahi Syed on YouTube speaking to a gathering of hundreds of thousands of Pakhtoons and openly giving hate speeches and exhorting people for violence. He is dividing people. Creating hatred. He is not yet arrested. Such people should not enjoy the leadership of the followers of the non-violent Badshah Khan (Pacha Khan). Watch and Listen:

They say Punjab is for Punjabis, Sindh for Sindhis, Baluchistan for Baluchis, NWFP for Pakhtoons but Karachi is for all. May I ask if Pakistan is not for all? He openly attacks co-citizens on the basis of racism. You don't share the city where you have chosen to come and live from a far with so much hatred in your hearts. I have chosen to write openly on this despicable subject as anchors, guests and callers get away without naming those who exhort people to violence by preaching hatred. Preach love, affection, fraternity and patriotism, not nepotism, regionalism, racism and hatred. It is high time we called a spade a spade. It is not enough to call them the land mafia or the drug mafia. All residents of Karachi whether they are Pashtu, Sindhi or Urdu speaking are all Pakistanis and no one has more rights over others. All have a right to a peaceful co-existence. We are all the very same people, little differences should not matter. They are natural. Allah made this world this way. Who are we to defy Allah.

Media should not allow any one to come on TV and openly accuse and blame others thereby inflaming passions. We are supposed to show restraint and not air divisive views. I give credit to MQM guys they are at least shy to show racism by not naming Pakhtoons and refer to them as land mafia and drug mafia etc. But I am sorry to note people of some in the ANP have no qualms about spreading hatred and don't even put a facade of fraternity on them.

We should first think ourselves as Muslims. We are the same Ummah of our beloved prophet Mohammed, may peace be on him. We are all one. We are all Pakistanis. Once we do that there are no differences. We all have problems and all want a better life. Let us rise above petty things and think like one big community. One of the two nations of "The Two Nation Theory". Let us not forget that otherwise we degenerate into small tribes to swallowed by enemy nations.

Karachi is bursting at the seams! Stop urbanisation. Develop villages. Think big. Have a big heart. Make forgiveness your creed.

When a disaster takes place the authorities who are directly or indirectly responsible for it usually in a civilized world resign. But with us any disaster, mismanagement, bad governance does not matter. Whatever may be the consequences we do not resign. That is the level of apathy we have. What is the solution? The solution lies in good governance and no body spared for their failings. Land Mafia in Karachi

It is public property no body however mighty can sell or allot it to any body.
The MyKolachi land must be a national asset and a beautiful project must be made for public good. How can a few people be allotted such an important and expensive land which is a State Property? Is there some love of the City, State and the Country or not? In Europe and America however expensive the land when it is for Public Good no body can touch it. The cities plan it in such a way. Even forests within the city limits are not touched.

Beautiful parks can be made there or something like Orlando entertainment parks that will bring in money too. Top consultants of the world must be called to design that area to international standards. That increase the value of Pakistan and will be good for tourism. People instead of going to Dubai can come to Karachi. For God’s sake don’t miss this chance.

The third raters must not be allowed to make it an obnoxious concrete jungle blocking air that flows into Karachi from the sea. Allah save Karachi from unscrupulous elements and corruption. Amen. The land must not be allotted to any body who so ever he may be. It belongs to the people and it must stay that way.

Can any one sell land in the middle of Manhatten that is a beautiful park and provides lung space to the city? It is the most expensive land in the world. Similarly can you sell land around public places. The city of Karachi must be ordered to plan it to international standards to attract world tourism. The only thing Karachi lacks is the vision and law and order. Once the law and order is tackled then investment will simply pour into Karachi.

With such an impressive number of police officers one would imagine that people in their areas enjoy excellent law and order. One would expect that no body is looted on the way by persons on mobikes or even cars as it happens in Karachi, no mobiles or valuables are snatched and no body comes knocking on the door with weapons nor any body dare kidnap any one for ransom.

One expects the criminals to be scared to death of law and its enforcement. When one is afraid of the consequences one is afraid to do a crime. When no one is scared all hell breaks loose and that is what has happened in Sindh. So what are these guys doing here?

The way they enjoy life for supposedly providing security to the people is enviable. You see police officers going about in luxury Land Cruisers enjoying all the perks that a Government job provides. But are they doing any thing? Are they earning it? Do they deserve it? They can have all that if they are delivering. If not that guy sitting in the middle in this picture, chairing the meeting, must pull them up as a good commander or chief executive.

Their job is to provide law and order of the best kind. They are getting paid for it. Are they providing even the lowest level of security to the man on the street or at home, one wonders. My experience is entirely different in Karachi for instance. I have yet to find a person male or female in Karachi who does not have a story of woe, of theft, dacoity, hold up at gunpoint, being looted on the way, going to mosque or returning from it, going for a walk in the park or just doing any thing any where, going for shopping etc. etc. He or she is at huge risk. In front of a gun anybody is helpless.

No body is safe any where. Who is next no one knows. You just keep praying for safe return home. And any time you could have a knock at the door of men with guns. All the time you hear or read so and so has been kidnapped for ransom and what terrible consequences have befallen them? If you are a resident of Karachi or Sindh you will testify to every single word you are reading here. Is this what these gentlemen in uniform are being paid for? Yes Sir that is what they are giving to the people of Karachi and Sindh whose taxes are paying for their luxuries.

Even a lay man can think what all can be done. Rest later, time permitting.

Justice demands that a rule or a law or a principle applied without discrimination...

When no body can drive a taxi or open a shop or buy land in NWFP, then why do they drive and buy all over Pakistan?

You open up, we open up. When the Punjab Govt. wants registeration and so does Sindh Government what is the problem? Why are these people resisting? In the first place there is no need to go to far off places from where they will find difficult to return if nothing for logistical reasons.

If they are going temporarily then they should go to nearby places from where they can go back easily. Not travel to 1,200 miles and unable to return just settle there thus taxing the resources in your host area. Water, electricity, roads and sewage couild be a great problem. Theer is no harm in registering. You won't resist if you are sincere. Accepted it is quite an inconvenience but it is far better than having no help when there are schemes of rehabilitation.

Guests are welcome but not for ever. They have contributed to the problem by not helping the government fight the terrorirsts. They did have a soft corner for them. Look where you are landed now.

Mr. Haider Khan Hoti who failed to govern in NWFP yeilded to the terrorists instead of defeating them and made a deal with the devil, he ought to have resigned but didn't. They must develop their own areas to help Karachi not becoming another Ilaqa Ghair.

See how lawlessness creates problems for people...

When you ignore issues forever that affect people, the issues then confront you when you no longer can solve them. What is happening in Karachi now is the result of decades of ignoring the issues in FATA and NWFP. Government ignored law and order there for decades. It is called "Ilaqa Ghair"!. The result was there was no development in those areas with disastrous consequences for Karachi over a thousand miles away.

When resources are the same how do you cope with the influx of population...

There is joblessness in those ungoverned areas. What do the people do? They move out. Where do they go? Not to Islamabad or Lahore or Punjab nor to Quetta but straight to Karachi. Now if any city takes people at the rate of 10,000 to 100,000 (estimates vary) per day how can it cope with the resources? It is the same water, gas, electricity, sewage, road network, police and above all food. Water, electricity, roads, sewage, police is not increasing to cope with the influx of people from upcountry. The Federal Government and The Provincial Governments have lent a blind eye to this problem.

Infrasturcture does not increase with increase in population...

What happens when the infrastructure is remaining the same while population has exploded at

an alarming rate? The city bursts at the seams. Medical facilities, schools and other

infrastructure remain the same. What remains is canibalisation. There is a limit to the extent a city can take people. Something has to be done. Now.

Where is the extra electricity, water, sewage its...

Imagine how many police can you depute per 50,000 citizens for

law and order say. How do you give law and order? How do you provide for extra water? Already it is tankers that are providing drinking water in Karachi. You already know about the acute electricity problem. How can we cope for the extra electricity when there is already a huge problem. What about the roads? They get clogged that does not bode well from our economy.

Karachi is free for all they say while Punjab is for Punjabis and Sindhi for Sindhis, Baluchistan for Baluchis and NWFP for Pakhtoons...

And if these people come armed to the teeth what will be the feeling of those people already living in that area. Obviously they resent it. I have heard many times that they are not allowed to settle down in Punjab or Baluchistan but when it comes to Karachi it seems it is free for all. I was shocked to hear on TV yesterday that in Punjab there is no problem as all are Punjabis and similarly in Baluchistan and interior Sindh and the same person goes on to say that Karachi is different. It belongs to every one. Now that was very interesting because nobody does anything for Karachi. There was a complete draught of development untill recently.

Islamabad must stop un-necessary movement of population within Pakistan...

When outsiders settle down in any place in such large numbers they create tensions. Talibanisation or no Talibanisation the outsiders who have stormed into Karachi have created problems. Most dangerous is that they are all armed. How can citizens of any area take it when they are swarmed by people not exactly friendly and armed. I think Islamabad must ensure that people do not just swarm into Karachi to save our most important city in the Country unless you want to create one more Ilaqa Ghair. They will bring the same ideas and with arms.

Develop FATA and NWFP so that they go back home...

We are all Pakistanis and want to and must and do live with love and affection with our co-citizens. There are issues but the problems are not unsurmountable. The solution lies in having development plans for FATA, NWFP and all those places from where people are storming into other areas particularly Karachi. Give them industries and employment. For that law and order is the corner stone othewise who will invest? Start with excellent law and order.

Fight the ideology that has made matters so bad...

For law and order it is an ideology that has to be fought. That is the ideology of The Taliban which is again derived from The Wahabi doctrine of Najd. Fight the deology so that it does not muddle minds of our young minds. I see people shirk from recognising this issue and keep beating about the bush.

Government must act when there is mass movement of population from any area... lest it create econmic and social problems...

While Pakistan is for all citizens, it can create economic and social problems when there is mass movement from one area to another. Governements must immediately take notice and recognise why people are moving. The best example is when Taliban enter an area people start moving out as it happened in Swat and Buner. They moved because there was a problem. The moment Taliban move in, people move out. Government must immediately remove the cause of movement whatever it is. If the Government does not act in time it creates problems for future generations.

Let's pray he goes past 400...
When he does that he would have atoned for the fieldset and bowling changes he made on day 1 and 2 that allowed The Srilankans to plunder runs and reach a formidable 644. Even disregarding the dropped catch of Misbah Ul Haq he should have ensured the opposition did not score so much however flat the pitch may be. The field set was bad as was the fielding. The bowling was less than mediocre. We missed Shoaib Akhtar dearly.

I hope he survives the first hour and Kamran Akmal gives him a stand till the end. We pray he does not get sentimental nor repeats the mistake of Imran Khan who had declared Javed Miandad at 289. My whole family is praying for Younus Khan to go past 400. May Allah grant our wish and prayers. Amen. Summa Ameen.

Benazir what have you done?
Don't make a joke of the poor!
You talk of the poor. But what have you done with them. What have you given them? Hundreds cut into half and hundreds more maimed with hands or legs amputated. You and the rich are safe and fine but the hundreds of poor and scores of poorer policemen have died. Wish you had been less selfish.
You made the job of security impossible...
You were told to delay, to be careful. You had lost your own brother in your own regime. Have you forgotten that? With your foolhardiness and bravado, you made the job of the security impossible. Thanks to the security arrangements you are at least alive. The poor have died though.
Blame game won't help... it is in bad taste.
Your husband, Sheri Rahman and the irresponsible media lost no time in blaming the government. Yes they could have done more, probably. But it is always easy to be wise after the event. But in such sad moments the blame game was not in good taste. As a neutral observer I wonder what more could the government have done? PPP had an absolute free hand to do any thing. They did. They put up a fabulous show with total disregard to the inconvenience to the local traffic and local residents of Karachi. They were all inconvenienced.
It was impossible to see the carnage right in front of you...
It took me time to overcome this shock. It all happened right in front of me. There is no way I could describe my feelings. I could not even watch. Any way our blog does not write what you must have already read in the newspapers and seen on TV etc. The whole thing has been sordid and such a huge tragedy.
The living without limbs is more difficult...
My heart goes out to all those killed and more for those injured. They have to live with the injuries, disfigurement and loss of limbs etc. I wish I could do something for them. I am at my own level.
Is media scared of the PPP? Why don't you speak the truth?
We are going to talk about things the media has ignored either deliberately, under threat or bribe, I do not know. But the fact remains, media in Pakistan does show restraint when it comes to Benazir and PPP while their guns go blazing against the President. They are so brave against him. That is very good. But why are you so one sided? Be brave against the PPP too. Particularly Geo - Kamran Khan, ARY - Kashif Abbasi, Aaj, Dr. Danish in TVOne are all guilty of fear. Why don't you speak the truth?
Benazir's accusations are not well founded...
Benazir should know she was not in Dubai but Karachi where power cuts is a daily phenomenon. She complains of lights going off at dusk. A very shallow accusation. At 12:00 midnight she was not supposed to be there. Why did she not adhere to a program? At that time, after all her program, she was supposed to have been at home. The conditions were definitely not good, why did you hang on there at great risk. You escaped but the poor died.
Had you stuck to a program you could have saved lives and the suffering of poor...
You ought to have briefly made a presence on the road, gone straight to Mazar-e-Qaed made your passionate address, made your point, pleased your followers and gone home comfortably. Instead you chose the "Tamasha" fanfare. Your truck was just not able to move. When could you have reached the place, made the address and gone home? What was the program? The more time you were on the road the people were so much at risk. Had you cared for the poor, their suffering for the past three days, you would not have done this.
According to experts there were no more than 100,000 people...
One wonders how many people were there? Benazir says 30,00,000. Did she calculate? No. Just an idea. It is not too difficult to calculate. Just count the busses that arrived from the interior, count trucks, cars or whatever mode of transport. I am a media man and a marketing man I can easily estimate. As a marketing man, figures are most important, I can very roughly calculate the number of people present. As a media man I know how a few can be shown to be many. All TV personnel will testify to this. There were no more than 75,000 to 100,000 people.
The poor PPP supporters had no transport to go back nor were they paid...
What is the plight of those that were brought in by PPP leaders from interior villages and small and big towns. They were promised money. Lots of them have complained that they have been left high and dry on the streets and did not even have the transport to go back and did not have money to go by public transport. They were obliged to borrow money from locals in Karachi to go back. So much for the poor the lady talks about.

Don't forget you have failed not once but twice and twice you have been removed on charges of corruption and misrule. Your party members call you "Mothorama" meaning respected. Surprisingly media follows suit as if it is some official title. But can you call one who is accused of such rampant corruption as respected?

P.S.
There is a perception in political circles that this sordid carnage, if any thing, has only helped Benazir. Sympathy has grown, increased her vote bank while herself and the top PPP leadership has come out unscathed. The propounders of conspiracy theories see a lot of planning in it and think every thing has gone exactly as per plan. Just ten minutes before she was moved to safety. The blast was just far enough not to cause casualty to the leadership. Some people see conspiracy in this although the author does not contribute to conspiracy theories.
