Obama visits India...

While Obama offers support for UN Security Council seat lectures India on human rights and responsibilities...
For those who can read between the lines, there was a lot to read. I am sure the Government of India did take notice of it. No wonder the hawks in the media are fuming with rage in India. Rest later.

Mr. Billor's children come to life with the sound of a gun...

When will Mr. Billor teach his children to respect the rule of law not a gun?
When a baby is born to a Muslim it is The Prophet's (PBH) tradition to say "Azan" call for prayer in the new born's ear. Mr. Billor says when a baby is born in their tribe they let him hear not "Azan" but the sound of shots from a gun. That is Mr. Billor. He can't help it. From the comfort of his home in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa he spews venom on Karachiites along with other ANP leaders.

Mr. Billor from Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa and Mr. Shahi Syed the KPK, ANP leader of Sind always talk of using guns for all solutions and it seems they do. "Hathyar hamar zevar hai" weapons are his adornment says Shahi Syed while making a new born kid listen to the sound of guns is their creed says Mr. Billor the Federal Minister for Railways in a press conference. This is how they raise their young they claim. And earlier Mr. Shahi Syed had read out from a written statement that "a Pathan never forgets to take revenge even after 100".

This is not the first time the Pakhtoon leaders have spoken of racism and disrupting law and order by use of force. Their utterances have caused divisions among people otherwise living peacefully together. The killings never seem to cease. It has been going on for well over an year now. Do we have an end in sight? Doesn't seem so. When we think things are OK then we hear an MPA is shot dead, then we hear people from gangs, underworld and land mafia have killed so many here and there.

When we think the worse is over then we hear pillion rider rule is relaxed and we have Sher Shah people murder with gay abandon in broad day light. They are never caught and brought to justice. How long will this go on? The Pakhtoons come from very far. They do not go to nearby Islamabad or Lahore and Punjab where they have been successfully stopped from entering and settling. I am shocked to hear they claim "Karachi hamara hai - ANP" the chalking is every where. Yes hamara hai, thumhara hai, sab ka hai. Yes it is our but is not Pakistan for all? Kya Pakistan hamara nahi hai?

There has never been a problem with Pathans or Pakhtoons. They have lived ever so peacefully with other Pakistanis in Karachi. The problem is with the uneducated and short sighted ANP leadership sitting in Pakhtoonkhwa and fomenting hatred far away in Karachi. You must listen to Haji Adeel and co. My God, what ideas. They love their people to earn in Karachi, as they cannot provide employment back home due to the lawlessness mind set, but exhort them not to own it. They do not encourage them to mix with the population and build bridges but keep aloof so that they vote for ANP. Hence their contribution to peace and development is nil in Karachi.

If only these people had developed Pakhtoonkhwah the poor people from there would never have needed to leave home and travel as far as Karachi for a living. Now that they have, for God's sake let them live in peace and give peace to their neighbors.

My biggest anguish is when my children have to miss school or the school is closed ever so often because of the conditions of the city. So many children have had problems in the O level and A level exams too. The papers come from abroad and they do not change and there is no re-test. The KPK visitors to Karachi, now settling down don't seem to have this problem.

Afia Siddiqui given 86 years...

The US judges should take suo moto action against some one who destroyed an entire country and killed over a million people and over 10,000 Americans on falsehood!
I am not here to discuss what Afia did or didn't. I know so little about it that it is not wise to comment on it. But I have faith in the US Justice System and I am sure in the end it will do justice and it usually does. However much the feelings may be inflamed in Pakistan and the rest of the world we must not come to conclusions without evidence. The administration and the justice system is there to protect the lives of Americans and give them security. Surely they are doing their job. I am not here to interfere with their duties nor to defend Afia Siddiqui.
My plea to the US justice department is entirely different. I am sure The Honorable Judges sitting on the benches know that the bulk of US population and the world was against the invasion of Iraq as there was no conclusive proof of weapons of mass destruction, yet Mr. George Bush egged on by Tony Blair, for their personal satisfaction and the satisfaction of a few invaded a country, brought it upon it knees and killed over a million people. Surely this crime is far greater than what ever Afia may or may not have done. She did not kill a million people yet she got 86 years. Again I am not pleading her case even on compassion!
One wonders how many years should George Bush get by the same Judges by the same token for killing over a million people and destroying a whole country, a civilisation, a culture, a heritage and every thing. He will have to be born a million times to get his full term. Oronically he is not even arrested nor any case brought against him.
I think the peace loving good folks of US must go to the courts and try the President who blundered heavily and caused misery to so many millions the world over. Are the judges and the people in the world listening? If yes, do something now!
See how it has been reported in the Western Press: http://mypetjawa.mu.nu/archives/cat_aafia_siddiqui.php

Murli The Bolwling Bradman takes 800 Wickets...

The drama was there till the last ball of the innings...
Both friends and foes were on edge and this time both were praying for the success of this little man from Sirlanka called the great Muralitharan who is the first to take 800 wickets in Test Cricket.
He had to see the heart break of one run out, that of Laxman and only one wicket remained between him and the record and a plumb LBW was not allowed. One kept wondering if any bad luck would not intervene between Murli and his record. The infamous Galle weather was also threatening. Besides Murli was telling the captain regardless of his record get Indians out lest the weather intervene and Srilanka not win.
No. He wanted his last test to be a winning test. So you see a lot of drama was going on all the while and continued till the end. It was one seesaw.
People remembered Bradman how he was out for a duck on his farewell test and his average slumped from 100 to 99.94 while every one prayed nothing like this should happen now. Finally he did have luck. Ojah snicked one at second slip to Jayaverdane. Wow! He made it.
Congratulations Murli. Don't forget 8 wickets is a big ask for a guy playing his last test and against a side that is known for its batting with guys like, Tendulkar, Dravid and Laxman in the team. On paper India is a formidable foe although not always on the ground. Yet for Murli to make them bite dust is no small achievement. The guy deserves every bit of adulation.
For once it seemed the world had only one team - that of Muttia Muralitharan.
Even his critics and enemies were praying for his success.

Hillary floors media persons yet again...

Hillary was prepared while our journalists weren't...
The difference was so obvious. Our guys and galls neither asked the right questions nor countered an argument however poorly replied. This is the second time she has done it. Earlier when she was here she nailed Talat Hussain this time almost all were floored particularly Meher of Dunya TV.
When spoken about water she took out her notes and countered it with most inefficient use of water in Pakistan and our people had not done their home work to tell her madam how efficient we are or not does not allow India to abrogate The Indus River Water Treaty. We just don't talk on right lines.
On Kashmir she was very categorical and adopted the Indian point of view. Our media gurus did not tell her, madam on one side you talk of war on terror and on the other side you ignore the basic issues that become the cause of it. You do not remind her of the atrocities that the army does on innocent unarmed people in Kashmir. Our journalists seemed to have been too enamored by her. They were treating her like a boss.
They did not tell her US and India talk so much of democracy why then a democratic solution is not on the card for the poor Kashmiris. Let them decide their own fate.
On Civil Nuclear Deal we again did not frame our questions right. Only Abbas asked one unrelated to Pakistan but a good question on 9/11 but she gave a very bad reply. She was not countered by saying when you drive people back to the walls for 50 years and when they want a democratic solution you use 7o vetoes to defend the tormentor.
This is in no way defending the accused who has been the cause of so much of misery in the Muslim world.

Rest later, time permitting.

India, Pakistan and Kashmir... Why talks fail?

If Nehru was not a Kashmiri Pandith...
Would the problem have arisen? Probably not!
All the blood that has flown in the valley and every where due to this problem whether the Kashmiris have killed any one or the Indian Army killed so many, the blood is on the hands of Nehru who conquered Kashmir very much against the will of the people. The consequences of this expedition are now for all to see with death and mayhem all over. One wonders if it benefited India at all. It sure hurt the Kashmiris and the Indian forces a lot may be not the politicians.
It was just that Nehru, the then Prime Minister of India could not envisage Kashmir not being part of India because of his Kashmiri origins and sent in the army to capture it. It was purely an emotional decision, as so many of his other decisions have been like outburst and reneging on The Cabinet Mission Plan etc. Taking over Kashmir had nothing to do with Indian national interest what so ever. In an emotional state he never cared for India nor the people's sufferings. The result was while India gained independence a whole nation of Kashmir found itself occupied with split families.
Imagine the cost of suffering of so many millions of people on both sides of the control line and the deaths of hundreds of thousands. Even if Indian soldiers have died they died in vain just to satisfy the whims, fancy and emotions of one man called Nehru. Then he had this party called The Indian National Congress that have ruled for the most time in India after 1947. This party revers Nehru to the extent of worshiping him. So they cannot go against what Nehru did for them good or bad. And now it seems, so long this party is in power nothing concrete will ever come out of any talks with India particularly with respect to Kashmir. Congress will never give it up. It cannot differentiate between Indian interests and personal or party interests.
The best time was to make a deal in BJP's time. BJP according to them is not a party to partition nor a party to Kashmir dispute. It possibly could have come up with a solution when it was in power. At Agra we came close until Mr. Advani overturned the apple cart for his personal gains. However in the past few years just before the toppling of Musharraf that "atoot ang" (Kashmir an inalienable part of India) claim has gone and India has agreed to accept Kashmir as a dispute and a core one for that matter. According to Mani Shankar Aiyar the deal was almost done on Kashmir when Musharraf's luck ran out, with it the aspirations of Kashmiri's evaporated too.
The Bombay incident is just an excuse to delay and disrupt a solution and normalisation process. Congress will keep talking for eternity. It has nothing to loose. Whenever they are under any kind of pressure either from freedom fighters or USA they talk and diffuse. They are staying put with a massive army in Kashmir, killing people at will.
There is no pressure on India as all world pressure is on Pakistan to contain terrorism. How sad. There is not even a mention of Indian State Terrorism in Kashmir and elsewhere neither in the media nor diplomatic circles.
If Pakistan wants a solution to the dispute it either has to get a round table conference with all parties to resolve the issue non-violently or bring to bear enough media pressure and hence diplomatic pressure on India from all sides. Kashmir and the atrocities there must become central headline news in world media 24x7 for at least an year before you can see action. Both are nuclear powers so a military solution is ruled out. If you cannot bring this media and diplomatic pressure to bear on India then just forget any solution.
Wish India realises that it should not leave this problem for the future generations to tackle. It was Nehru's responsibility to solve this problem before he died because it was he who had created this unnecessary problem. But he did not despite all his promises and is making future generations in India, Kashmir and Pakistan to pay and suffer for it. Hope at least the present leadership realises it is time to solve the problem and not leave it to the future generations.
The easiest thing as Tony Blair once told Pranab Roy on an air plane is to look for a democratic solution. A democratic solution is nothing but a plebiscite. Why is the "biggest democracy" not paying heed?

Fake degree holders must be punished for fraud

Just resigning is not enough...
they must be duly punished for fraud.
This is a good opportunity to begin the process to ensure that no body absolutely no body is above the law. The law should be supreme. Those societies that do not uphold law will disintegrate due to lawlessness and anarchy. Let our law makers first follow the law. Now they are trying to prove it is a bad law to insist on a degree. No it is not. I think it is high time we defended this law tooth and nail so that further bad elements did not enter the parliament.

There can't be another easy chance...to beat Australia!

Salman Butt the only batsman who applied himself as a test batsman but lost concentration at Ponting's brilliant bowling change and tight defensive field for just a moment and was stumped by Tim Paine it was a pavilion parade then on. The pinnacle being Shahid Afridi's penchant for sixes as if he is playing a t20 match. All the players had to do was to stay at the crease runs would have followed as they had two and a half day to achieve the target. And with the wicket playing so easy the victory was there for the asking. But our guys except the one above did not desire for it I am sure.
When you play Tests like 20x20 what else do you expect...
This a classic case of opportunity squandered. Time to think and bring back the greats of Pakistan Cricket. Send an SOS call to Mohammed Yousuf, Younus Khan, Shoaib Akhtar and Faisal. Now! With Shoaib Akhtar's genuine pace, Asif's nagging length a la McGrath, Mohammed Yousuf and Younis solidity in the middle and with a good captain there is no way we can loose.

Bhutto Movie will not resurrect her image sadly...

You blew up two excellent chances God gave you!
It is time to reflect...
For sure it is a great tragedy. No doubt about it. But is also a fact that it is an opportunity missed. An opportunity to etch your name in gold in the history of Pakistan, one of the two countries made on the basis of religion. One was Pakistan and the other Israel. Israel is one year younger and India one day. But look where they are standing today?
The only thing we have excelled in is corruption and maintaining the status quo. The Parliament continues to be filled with land lords who have no love for the people of Pakistan and hence make laws that suit only themselves. That is because they did not do away with feudalism which India did by enacting rural and urban land ceiling laws. There is not one case of massive and shameless corruption in the other two countries like we have of the times of Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari. Why?
They already had wealth from the lands Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto had bought in Larkana when he was the Dewan in Juna Gadh besides what was given to him by the British. All she had to do was earn a good name. Wealth brings the luxuries of the world but it does not bring respect which Mr. Zardri is at pains to discover.
It indeed is a lost opportunity to bring name and fame to themselves and the nation. No number of documentaries will resurrect the image now. Ah Benazir! If only you had survived to do something big this time. But God does not for ever give chances. You have to grab them when you get them. For that you have to have your priorities right.

Helen Thomas speaks the truth and the Jewish media throws her out of the White House...

The head of the Press Corps thrown out for speaking the truth...
It is a sad day today. See what a vicious campaign was launched by The Zionists or Jews or Jewish media whatever you may call it. A carreer spanning 60 years came to an abrupt end. The 89 year old lady Helen Thomas always sat in the front row for all Presidential Briefings and Press Conferences from Kennedy's time. She has many achievements and books to her credit. She is an acclaimed and the most respected journalist of America. She headed the Press corps too. She has retired after an illustrious career spanning six decades because she told Israel to "get the hell of Palestine and go home, it is occupied and go home to where ever they came from, Poland, Germany, US or anywhere".
What wrong did she say? She only stated a fact that none can deny but Israel did not like it as she wants facts of history swept under the carpet. Watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HarA2mCrqjo Don't miss these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtnSZu978ZA&NR=1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4W_eZ6d1e6M&NR=1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zymcrA9jZ50 (Have patience the she will talk of the subject, worth watching).
I was watching and writing in her favor the whole day in Washington Post where an intense debate was raging, but she had to retire just because she spoke the truth which is good for USA but not for Israel. You criticise Israel and there you go. Had she told something about USA and eased out, it would have been fine but not for criticizing Israel. American interests are not the same as Israel's. And the way these Jews reacted, my God, it is mind boggling.
I thought it necessary to write on it. The lady was great. A great critic and one who spoke the truth as it is regardless of consequences. The Jews and the neo-cons must be rejoicing that she is no more on the front seat and facing the President.
The watchdog is gone and gone to please Israel not America. Some day sure Americans will realize that they should learn to be their own masters and make policies in American interests and not Israel's. If the comments on Washington Post are any indication then the writing is on the wall. You can't fool all the people all the time. The Americans are getting to realize that Israel has milked them dry with lot of deception and lies about the Middle East. They are realizing that Israel was not a good thing ab-initio.

Read comments in Washington Post: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/06/06/AR2010060604269.html Read them.
This was the time for us to participate and register our protest but only very few did. Jewish were very active though and got her out. Hope the Americans realize how they are in the stranglehold of Jews.
Arabs cry in a lot in the world and in US but when it comes to seizing an opportunity they fail miserably. While the entire Jewish community was up in arms against her the Arab World, The Muslim World and The Arab and Muslim Community in US was mum and gave no support what so ever.
Yet Arabs expect solutions from America and the Muslim world blames America for every thing. You are given opportunities to display your views and take advantage of a situation by supporting some one who stood for you. Now she has sacrificed her long illustrious career for you and you do nothing.
I urge The Muslim World to stop constantly blaming some one else for their own lack of imagination and inaction. Please click all the links and read for yourself every thing.

Yet another black day in The Middle East...

Murder on the high seas!
Israel will get away with this too!
Why not? A wolf in the middle of a herd of sheep can do anything. A bull in a china shop can smash any thing to pieces. This is not the first time. Israel always does the most heinous of the crimes and gets away with it. Only a few like George Galloway shout but their shouts are drowned in the sounds of the guns and vetoes by USA. Click: http://www.vivapalestina.org/. Read, listen and watch.
Shame what Israel has done. Shame. Crime of the highest order. Israel had no business to go on the high seas and capturing a flotilla of ships carrying aid to the occupied area of Gaza and in the process using live ammunition and killing dozens of people. Israel is also not allowing any information to get out of the ships by jamming the equipment. The more you condemn the less it is. Read all about this on this blog Click: http://arabnews.com/middleeast/gazableeds/ http://www.haaretz.com/blogs/a-special-place-in-hell/a-special-place-in-hell-the-second-gaza-war-israel-lost-at-sea-1.293246 http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/02/world/middleeast/02flotilla.html?hp http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/06/01/AR2010060100548_Comments.html
See what an Israeli paper says and shows: click all these links and watch the movies: http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/video-israel-navy-troops-storming-gaza-flotilla-1.293380
I am not going to repeat it. I am going to talk about something else.
Lets take this opportunity to think, analyse and see what possibly can be done.
For a moment just think there was no Israel. Oh what a different world would it be. Hundreds of thousands of lives would have been saved just for that. Imagine the money that would have been available for development. There would have been practically no problems. The world is full of problems because of this little bellicose state right in the middle of docile self hurting states.
First let us see how did Israel come into being. Who fathered it? It is said that Britain fathered it. Yest it is true but this illegitimate child was then brought up by United States of America from 1945 onwards. How did this come about?
Time permitting I will write Inshallh. You wont be disappointed. Keep watching this space.

Karachi - identify problems, solutions can be found!

Karachi has taken an influx of 10,000 people a day for decades... but can it for ever? This is a subject I do not want to write about because I hate racism, regionalism and favouritism. We must like or dislike on merit not any other consideration. For me all are Muslims and hence no problem. But it hurts when I see so much of killing. They are all my brothers.

In chess they say observers game is at the top. Similarly when things seem too complicated lets move back a bit climb a hillock and take a distant, detached and a dispassionate look. Then we have to look closely as well so that we do not miss important details.
Karachi is experiencing an influx of people at the rate of a minimum 10,000 people a day for a few decades now, as they say. Can any city take this beating and allow for urbanisation of this magnitude? It just does not have the resources to feed them nor does it have housing, water, sewage and road network. When you tax a city well beyond its limits, problems are bound to occur.
Where are these people coming from? From areas that are most ackward for whatever reasons. And they come with their own mindset of backwardness and lawlessness. They have made their own areas - "no go areas" "Ilaqa Ghair". No body can go in their so no investment can come nor development take place. The result is joblessness. People have to move out naturally.
They do not go to nearby Lahore or Islamabad but over a thousand mile away to Karachi. When such large influx takes place in an area, a friction with locals is not out of the ordinary. It is not unexpected. One solution is to develop those areas from where there is an exodus of people so that influx elsewhere stops. Otherwise Karachi will burst at the seams which it seems to be the case now.
Employment opportunities must be created in other provinces so that people get jobs in their own provinces and there is neither exodus nor influx in any area.
I have been hearing on television all leaders of ANP openly blaming MQM for every thing. This should not happen. No names should be taken lest you create divisions among people who are otherwise living peacefully with each other. They are dependent on each other.
I have heard ANP leader Mr. Shahi Syed on YouTube speaking to a gathering of hundreds of thousands of Pakhtoons and openly giving hate speeches and exhorting people for violence. He is dividing people. Creating hatred. He is not yet arrested. Such people should not enjoy the leadership of the followers of the non-violent Badshah Khan (Pacha Khan). Watch and Listen:
He hurls abuses and exhorts people to hit their neighbors. See how venomous it is and look at the applause on demeaning the compatriots. Amazing. See how the lady is openly threatening of bloodshed. This is no way of co-existing in peace having come from so far.
Claims that weapons is their jewelery. No respect for law, that is Shahi Syed.
They say Punjab is for Punjabis, Sindh for Sindhis, Baluchistan for Baluchis, NWFP for Pakhtoons but Karachi is for all. May I ask if Pakistan is not for all? He openly attacks co-citizens on the basis of racism. You don't share the city where you have chosen to come and live from a far with so much hatred in your hearts. This video is just a small example. Aa you can see on the video they are all armed to the teeth.
I have chosen to write openly on this despicable subject as anchors, guests and callers get away without naming those who exhort people to violence by preaching hatred. Preach love, affection, fraternity and patriotism, not nepotism, regionalism, racism and hatred. It is high time we called a spade a spade. It is not enough to call them the land mafia or the drug mafia. All residents of Karachi whether they are Pashtu, Sindhi or Urdu speaking are all Pakistanis and no one has more rights over others. All have a right to a peaceful co-existence. We are all the very same people, little differences should not matter. They are natural. Allah made this world this way. Who are we to defy Allah.
Media should not allow any one to come on TV and openly accuse and blame others thereby inflaming passions. We are supposed to show restraint and not air divisive views. I give credit to MQM guys they are at least shy to show racism by not naming Pakhtoons and refer to them as land mafia and drug mafia etc. But I am sorry to note people of some in the ANP have no qualms about spreading hatred and don't even put a facade of fraternity on them.
We should first think ourselves as Muslims. We are the same Ummah of our beloved prophet Mohammed, may peace be on him. We are all one. We are all Pakistanis. Once we do that there are no differences. We all have problems and all want a better life. Let us rise above petty things and think like one big community. One of the two nations of "The Two Nation Theory". Let us not forget that otherwise we degenerate into small tribes to swallowed by enemy nations.
Karachi is bursting at the seams! Stop urbanisation. Develop villages. Think big. Have a big heart. Make forgiveness your creed.

Political spokesmen of the terrorists must be stopped...

Don't give media platform to the views of the terrorists...
Peace deal is made by other enemy countries not with our own home grown terrorists who are aided and abetted by the religious parties and some who are the political spokesmen of the terrorists on both print and electronic media.
Day in and day out 24x7 there is a constant bombarding of USA without understanding the genesis of problems. Every minute we are confusing young minds. We have created a siege mentality of our young minds. Blasts take place, in a minute 300 women are made widows, 3000 kids orphaned, every body is weeping but you will not find the religious scholars coming and condemning them. On the contrary they give excuses that America is in Afghanistan, hence. Go and kill the invaders next door. Why kill our own people? They have the same answer. Let America go. For sure yes. But why are you killing our own people? No answer.
The anchors, guests and callers all love the blame game and no one, absolutely no one puts his fingers on the real issues. All are playing to the gallery. All are being populist with utter disregard to national loss. Each one of the guys above has one way or the other supported terror which they call Jihad. It may be a Jihad in Afghanistan but fighting a Muslim State and its army is most certainly not Jihad. Will some one tell them what Jihad is? Rest later Inshallah.
